St. Gabriel has Heart!

On behalf of the American Heart Association and Mrs. Morris, THANK YOU very much for your generous donation of $29,111 for the 2024 Kids Heart Challenge event. Your efforts make a tremendous impact and help millions of Americans through increased awareness of cardiovascular disease, lifesaving scientific research, and critically needed education efforts. We greatly appreciate your participation and hope you take pride in knowing your contributions will help save lives.

In addition to saving lives through their donations, St. Gabriel students learned the lifesaving procedure of hands-only CPR during PE class. All students became familiar with the 2 simple steps of hands-only CPR. 1.  call 911 and get and AED. 2.  Push hard and fast in the center of the chest until help arrives. After watching videos and a demonstration with a training AED, all students got to practice these steps on CPR mannequins. Being able to practice on a mannequin helped students learn proper hands-only CPR techniques, including hand placement and depth and rate of chest compressions. Have your child share with you at home what he/she learned about hands-only CPR.
